Commitment Issues - Why Do So Many Men Seem to Have Them?

Trying to get a man to commit to a relationship at the same time that you want hm to can be about as easy and enjoyable as pulling teeth. Just when you think that he might be feeling the same exact way you are, he goes and says or does something that makes you totally question his level of commitment to you. We all know that men have commitment issues, the question is why do they have these issues and what can you do to prod him along in the right direction?

Some women never seem to be able to get this part right, and they end up going from relationship to relationship, hoping that the next guy that they meet will finally be the one that commits to a lasting and loving relationship with them. You do not want to be one of those women, and even if you kind of feel like you already are, there is something that you can do to stop that vicious cycle.

Here's why men have so many commitment issues and what you can do to change them:

1. He is afraid of the unknown.

Let's be honest, to someone that does not have much experience with long term relationships, it can seem kind of scary to feel like they have to make that kind of a decision. If your man has not had many long term relationships, or any that you would describe as being long term, it will probably take a little longer to make him want to settle into a relationship with you, even if he has no desire to find someone else. Be patient with him and he may just turn around and end up feeling the same as you.

2. He knows that there are many other fish in the sea and he wants a taste.

This is one of those relationship situations that you really do NOT want to have to face. If a guy has that urge to "sow" his wild oats, then there really may not be a whole lot that you can do except to cut ties with him for a little while and let him do his thing. Of course, if you do this, then you should still be looking after number one (YOU), so that you don't pass up another guy who may be ready to settle into a lasting and committed relationship with you. Some guys you really do have to let go and move on, even if you really do like him.
